"Ray of Hope" is a worldwide musical charity project.
President of Israel and noble peace prize winner, Mr. Shimon Peres, donated a text to www.Songweavers.com,
a web site dedicated to bringing musicians from all over the world close enough to collaborate.
The vision behind the site is that people can unite for peace through music.
And indeed, many musicians from all over the world are taking part in this unique project:
A double album containing many composed versions of Mr. Peres' text was released!
The version by Omri Lahav, with Austrian singer Sonja Perenda, was selected Songweavers' Song of the Month, May 2008.
Due to the growing popularity of the project, a second, international album has been released, featuring original translations of Mr. Peres' text to the native languages of the various contributing artists.
Omri Lahav appears on three tracks - a solo Hebrew version (Featuring Rinat Tregerman on Piano and translated by Omri Lahav), a second duet with Sonja Perenda (Hebrew / German / English), and a collaboration with singer Elinor Ekman (Japanese).
Both albums, masered by Allen Cooper, are available for sale on http://www.theshouk.com/peace.htm for a funny price.
All proceeds from the sales of both albums goes to charity, and for promoting world peace.
From the Media:
Versions by Lahav and other members are played on the Israeli "Radio Haifa, 107.5fm".
Articles were published on Herald Tribune, CBS News, Guardian.co.uk, San Francisco Chronicle, BBC, The Jerusalem Post, ItaliaNews, Las Cruses Sun News, Turkish Daily News, and more...
Also, Lahav's version was performed by Sonja Perenda in Trialog's first ever "Peace Concert" in Vienna, Austria (June, 2008), and was televised on several networks!
