November 30th, 2015
As the playbacks were nearing completion, it was time to start thinking about the vocals!
So I called up three friends - Itay Haruvi, Jonathan Linav and Yotam Ronen (whom I would later come to call "the high council"), and we met in Haruvi's studio to host a little "mic shootout"!
The winner proved to be a very manly Manley X10i, Lou Reed signature model - something about it just clicked with my voice.
We had fun recording with it for a couple of hours, referring back to the texts for perspective and taking notes of the things I needed to work on.
On December 18th, 2015 we had our first actual recording session, and it went well!
I was getting excited about the results,
and by now the playbacks were about 80% mixed so singing with them was an absolute delight :)
In the following weeks we tried to meet once a week, and by January 16th, there was only one song still to record!
Once that's complete I will record some backing vocals with good friends, and then take a couple of weeks away from the album, to regain some fresh perspective.
During that time, Haruvi and Johnny will be travelling to London to record an album with a renown producer I won't name... exciting times for everyone :)
As always, thanks for listening, stay tuned as my album-making adventure comes to a close :)
